Puncture Repair: FAQs
Can every puncture be repaired?
No. The British Standard for car tyre repairs (BS AU 159) only allows repairs in the central part of the tread, and only for damage below a certain size. Punctures near the sidewall, large cuts, or tyres that have been driven on flat usually need replacing. We’ll always tell you straight.
I’ve got a slow puncture. Is it OK to drive?
Driving on an under-inflated tyre can damage it beyond repair and affects braking and handling. It’s better to call us out to where the car is than to drive it.
Can you repair run-flat tyres?
Tyre makers’ rules on repairing run-flats vary. Call us with the make and size and we’ll advise.
